Written & Performed by Kate Sale & Dominique Sands
'Thin Air' is proud to be part of this year's Hastings Fringe Festival
at The Stables Theatre & Arts Centre, Hastings
26th July 2023, 7.30pm.
Two teenagers meet at a train station in 2023's Southern England and begin to converse, only to find out that their lives are more intertwined than they ever could've imagined. Through displays of gaming, technology, and lust, we see the scary reality of what today's youth are set to face. Written by two young creatives, this play is a passion project with heart and energy
Produced as part of Not Your Muse Theatre’s Mentoring Program.
Kate Sale is currently finishing her training at LAMDA, which comes after previously attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School - at which they played leading roles with Bryn Williams’ “The Lab” such as Mother Courage and Clytemnestra. They have appeared on ‘Just Grand’ for BBC Radio 2, and worked with the likes of Siobhan Finneran and Jason Watkins professionally. Kate considers herself to be a writer, musician and drag artist as well as an actor; “Thin Air” is a passion project for herself and Dom that came about through feeling the need for a space to feel excited and unbound in their lives, choices, and differences, and is so pleased for this to have been recognised and appreciated by those here.
Dominique Sands is a Hispanic/British actor, and a recent graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre. His previous credits include playing ‘Bastian’ in Shudder/Amazon Prime’s Don’t Grow Up, ‘Kurt’ in the Spain tour of The Sound of Music and ‘Ezra’ in I don’t care - a play, commissioned by the National Youth Theatre. In 2021, both Kate Sale and Dominique Sands co-wrote and produced their play; Thin Air, which premiered for two nights at the YATI theatre in Islington. It’s their first written project and are so excited to see how far their Thin Air ‘train’ (wink at the plot) could go.
